The Archipelago History Tour

Welcome to stay at Djurönäset Hotel & Conference on the island Djurö, A superior four-star conference hotel in the Stockholm Archipelago. 

Combine your stay with The Archipelago museum in Stavsnäs with the county's largest collection of artifacts from the archipelago and The Maritime History Trail. The trail is divided in three separate loops with billboards describing the history.Both Swedish and foreign ships came here during the 1500s-1600s with their crews of seaman and soldiers, admirals and kings. You can see the place where the warship Riksvasa sank in 1623.

Visit Djurö Church, or as it is called in ancient sources “the chapel for sailors and islanders”. The Chapel was built 1683, the oldest wooden church in the Stockholm Archipelago.  Join a guided tour in the Archipelago Museum and learn more about the archipelago and the life of the islanders – how they lived and worked during a time different from today.

Optional: There are a lot of activities at the hotel, like spa treatments, tennis, bikes, boule, soccer, rowing boats, wood fired sauna and hot tub by the water.
