Runmarö Kapell (Chapel)

Runmarö chapel foundation owns and manages the chapel.

History

Runmarö chapel was opened in 1973 by Karl Gustaf Rinder, the dean at that moment.
There is a small but beautiful chapel in pine.

Interior

The window lets nature outside become one with the interior.
The altar table of layers glued pine have been donated by the architect
Altar crucifix in wood with a body of silver is made by silversmith Carl Tony Forsberg from Södertälje. The baptismal font is also signed and donated by Forsberg.
The organ was built by Cantor Gunnar Guhrén who also built the organ in Sandhamns chapel.

Two votive ship, are donated to the chapel after the inauguration. "Jala from Ruhnu" is made of Isac Strömfelt and donated 1977 "Anna Mona of BOHOLMEN" was donated to the chapel 1978, from Erik Thunström estate.

Cemetery

The cemetery was completed in 1987 with a memorial. It is located in the part containing natural woodland south of the chapel. The beautiful gates to the cemetery were made in 1989 and exact copies of the foregoing.
