You can easily reach Värmdö by car, bus or boat. From Stockholm City, the road 222 takes you to Värmdö, the road ends in Stavsnäs Vinterhamn, the busiest port for boat traffic in the archipelago. Coming from Vaxholm, use the ferry to Stenslätten of northwestern Värmdö.

Boat

Scheduled boat traffic is widespread and there are also large number och yacht charter companies that will take you to the various islands.


Scheduled Passenger Traffic

Värmdö have multiple ports for regular service, and several of the islands served have several "steamboat docks". Note that in scheduled service, you must flip up a semaphore on your dock for the boat to  stop.

Car ferries

To get to some parts of Värmdö you can also take the car on the ferry. These are driven by the transport department and timetables can be found on their website.
